Intoducing the Rabbit Shack!

A few days ago I met the most lovely ladies, Justine and Amanda who are opening up a shop called the "Rabbit shack" in Berrima. Justine is the designer of the exquisite and rustic styling of Rabbit Trap Timber which you will also find stocked in their shop. ( i love this style of furniture)

It was a lovely catch up over coffee and they walked away with lots of TobyE jewellery in hand, ready to display in their new shop for the opening this Friday :)

So very excited to be apart of this and if you want to get away from Sydney for the day or live near by Berrima, go check it out! Opens Friday 10am - 4pm, 7 old hume hwy.

Exhibition 'Artisans in the garden'

I am very excited to announce that i was one of the few artist chosen to show my work in this years Exhibition at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney :)
It is primarily 3d works of art from established and emerging artists and runs from the 8th - 16th of October. So pop on by and check out some of my new collections on display and all the other wonderfully talented artists. x

A little peek into my jewellery making process :)

So start with a sketch, not always as neat as this :) sometimes I don't need to sketch prior to making I just see where the metal wants to take me.
In this sketch it shows the length of the wire needed to produce all the little wired components that will be attached around the base of the earrings.Next step cutting and soldering...

This is what is looks like after creating each little wired component and soldering them onto the base which is saw pierced out. The very white look is what happens after pickling. So now it needs a good clean up....

This is after the cleaning stage, one earring has been hand hammered, formed and domed, the other is still flat..

Soldering the tops of the earrings that will eventually articulate from the base.

Right before the polishing and assembly stage..
